Care Instructions for Your Candle
We want you to enjoy your LOVE AVA CANDLES for as long as possible! Below are a couple of candle care tips to ensure you get the most out of your beautiful candle.
When you light your candle for the first time, please ensure you allow it burn long enough so that the wax melts all the way to edge - this will help to ensure the candle continues to melt evenly as you use it and allow for the best fragrance throw.
Before you light your candle for future times, please trim your wick. Having a wick of approx. 5-7mm is ideal. You can use nail clippers if you don't have a wick trimmer. By regularly trimming your wick it will help reduce the 'mushroom' head that can occur and also any black soot that can occur on the edge of the glass because of this mushroom wick.
If you forget to trim the wick its ok and can be fixed. When your candle is off, simply trim the wick and wipe the glass with a tissue (slightly damp if needed) to remove the soot.
When you are finished burning your candle, please put the lid back on to extinguish the flame or use a snuffler. This will ensure your room keeps that lovely fragrance instead of the smell from a blown out candle.
Keep your candle out of direct sunlight in your home as the sun can discolour your candle and when the weather is really warm - slightly melt your candle.
Did you notice some wet spots on the glass sides of your candle? This is where some of the wax has pulled away from the glass wall. This is perfectly normal and doesn't just happen to LOVE AVA CANDLES - some of the biggest candle manufacturers have this issue. It will not effect your candle in any way - with our sometimes crazy weather it can happen, however we try our best to avoid this due to our careful and thorough handmade process. If this occurs while the candle is in your home its ok and there is no need to worry!
